ARM Scholarships


Scholarship applications are now being accepted for 2009 year of funding. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is February 28, 2009. All applications must be complete and postmarked by that date or they cannot be considered.

Winners will be informed and checks will be sent in spring 2009. All checks will be made out to the College, Technical School or University the student will be attending. If no school has been selected, the check will be held by the ARM Foundation until the student (or parents) inform the Foundation of the College, Technical School or University to be attended.

The ARM Foundation was created to assist ARM member's children, and the children of their employees, with the cost of post secondary education. Only the children of Full Membership members are eligible; Associate Members are not eligible. The ARM Foundation is funded through the donations of ARM member yards, fund raisers, and investments. Awards are made annually, the amount of the award being determined by the number of applicants and the financial state of the fund. The award amount is determined each year by the ARM board of directors. A scholarship committee will make the final determination on all scholarships.



ARM Foundation Awards $5,000 in Scholarships for 2008

The Scholarship Selection Committee had a tough job ahead of them this year as the quality of the applicants was extremely high. In total for 2008, the ARM Foundation awarded five - $1,000 scholarships. ARM congratulates the following individuals on their scholarship awards and wishes all applicant's the best of luck in their academic endeavors.



Michelle Buckley
Michelle's father, Mike Buckley, is company President of Jerry's Auto Salvage, Inc. located in Big Lake, Minnesota. This is the third year running that Michelle has been awarded an ARM Scholarship. Michelle, a student at the University of Maine at Machias, is pursuing a double major in Biology and Psychology, and expects to graduate in May of 2009. She plans to continue her education and pursue a Master's degree, eventually working as an Adolescent Psychologist. Michelle is also involved in her college drama club. States Michelle of her involvement in the club, "Behind the scenes, I have learned many organizational skills and techniques. I have learned group skills, public speaking skills through acting, creative writing and artistic skills through directing and the ability to work with freshman and professors alike."





Tegan Buckley
Tegan Buckley is also the daughter of Mike Buckley of Jerry's Auto Salvage. Tegan is a senior at Becker High School and will graduate this June. After graduation, Tegan plans on attending North Dakota State to study Pre-Pharmacy. Tegan has been involved in many activities throughout the years, and has been volunteering with various organizations since the 1st grade. In Tegan's application she wrote, "In first grade my family joined 4-H, which taught me to be grateful of what adult volunteers do for many youth. 4-H has taught me that it is better to give than receive, and that you should always give back to community organizations."





Alex Genz
Alex's father, Carl Genz, is Manager of U Pull R Parts in Rosemount and an ARM board member. Alex is attending St. Mary's University - Winona, where he is pursuing a degree in Accounting, as well as an HR Management degree. He plans on obtaining his CPA certification upon graduation.





Angela Kuebler
Angela's father, Brad Kuebler, is Owner of St. James Auto Salvage, Inc. in St. James. Angela is a freshman at Manhattan Christian College, where she is pursuing a degree in Worship Ministry.


Jessica Perry
Jessica's father, Patrick Perry, is Shop Manager at Viking Auto Salvage in Northfield. Jessica is a Senior at Northfield High School. Jessica is planning on attending either Metropolitan State University or The College of St. Thomas. Although Jessica has not declared a major, she is considering a degree in Psychology or Accounting.
